A magazine is a popular publication targeted to a general non-academic audience which covers a wide range of topics. There are many genres of magazines such as sports, food , gossip, soaps etc. The main elements of a magazine are images, texts, advise, gossip, captions, models, titles etc. We have magazines for people who like to read about current gossip and information. I think magazines are suitable for people who don't enjoy reading long newspapers and books. 'Ok' magazine is the most popular magazine in our year because it includes gossip about celebs and soaps which is what teenagers like. I think in 50 years the magazines wont exist because technology is improving rapidly. 4 magazines i like to read are 'Ok', 'Reveal', 'Hello' and 'Vogue'. I like these magazines because they're about soaps, gossip and fashion.

Hollyoaks is a British television soap opera based on characters in their late teens and early twenties. The character above is called Theresa Mcqueen. She is a young, blonde teen who has a daughter. In the program she's portrayed as a 'typical teenage mother'. This shows that they think all young girls are getting pregnant before their 16 with no qualifications. This gives out a negative, as well as incorrect, message about teenage girls.
